Although they did find me on Sunday, it was a relatively easy day. But Monday I was again back at it, this time working at McKenna Hall. My first chore was to help with Recognition Society Dinner reservations for the upcoming Notre Dame vs. Michigan game weekend. I learned how to answer the Recognition Society phone line and answered many, many questions about dinner times, locations, waiting lists, cancellations, confirmations and even parking. I coordinated reservations taken by the Recognition Society and by the CCE Recognition Events website. I ran Marketplace reservation reports, made phone calls to guests to confirm the number of people in their parties and asked if the guests had any special needs that need to be taken into consideration when creating the seating chart, such as wheelchair accessibility or a high chair. Sometimes, people needed to cancel or change their reservations, so I had to learn how to process credit card sales and marketplace refunds. After I had confirmed all of the Friday and Saturday dinner reservations, I finalized the reservation reports, created seating charts and had a great big martini. (Chocolate of course).
Although my work day was now complete, there was still more for me to do. After my long day of work at the CCE with Becky, I went to a football game at St. Joseph's High School to watch Trace Dowling play. It was very cold and rainy! I tried to hide under a yardage marker, but they found me.I had to be the water boy and chain gang! It sure felt nice to cuddle up under my blanket.
