Days 3/4

Wednesday is typically meeting day for our managers. We have two meetings on a regular basis to communicate current and upcoming events, as well as discuss policies/procedures and other business related to our operation. I had the priveledge of attending my first staff meeting on Wednesday (held every other week). I was very impressed by the efficiency and organization of this meeting. We begin with reviewing outstanding issues from the prior meeting, after which each manager gives a brief report of their respective areas. Discussions ensue based on these reports until all managers have updated the group. Mr Beirne then updates us on other relevant issues relating to our operation. These meetings are generally completed within 1 hour.

This meeting is typically followed by a food meeting designed specically to discuss upcoming banquet events and business related to Sorin's. Each function sheet is reviewed with an opportunity for each manager to obtain necessary information to service these events.
As you can see, we have not mastered the paperless organization, but nonetheless, we are able to complete this meeting in about 30 minutes.

I am now prepared to go forward armed with a wealth of information regarding the state of affairs of the Morris Inn and McKenna Hall. These meeting help all of the managers organize their time and plan for upcoming events, and are critical to the success of the operation.
